Assessment/Evaluation

• In-depth, one-on-one conversations/interviews with student to explore his/her aptitudes, unique skills and talents, interests and passions, values and goals
• Discuss circumstances and/or personal issues, which have affected academic and personal history
• Provide a thorough explanation of the students record from the perspective of a selective college board of admissions
• Consideration of family’s financial circumstances impact on the admissions process

Preparation/Identification

• Establish a standardized testing schedule and best preparation strategies for the student (PSAT, ACT, SAT I, SAT subject tests, AP Tests)
• Advise on HS curriculum, extra-curricular activities and summer enrichment opportunities
• Advise on which teachers to ask for recommendations and how to make sure the letters convey the right “message”
• Research and identification of potential colleges based on the student’s criteria and records
• Fine tune the list of colleges considering Early Decision and Early Action choices and strategy
• Guidance on how to get the most from campus visits
• Scholarship search and application assistance

Application/Matriculation

• Assistance in preparing and proofing all applications
• Development and editing of all application essays in order to best contribute to students “hook”
• Interview coaching and mock interview preparation
• Support student in weighing various admission offers and in the decision-making process
• Waitlist advising and strategy, if necessary
• Ongoing support and counsel including goal-setting and charting of an academic course for the first year of college
